Digital Marketing Team

At soVision IT, I love the variety of working with our different customers both large and small within our custom software and development team. It’s always rewarding to solve a problem for someone.

I studied Chemistry at The University of Manchester before working at the Met Office. Science then continued as an interest rather than a career as I worked purely as a programmer in the private sector.

I love the adventure of travel and I’m looking forward to exploring the world with my young daughter. I enjoy running, hiking, and have recently got into yoga.

I am a Junior Digital Marketing Executive within the digital marketing business team at soVision IT. Within this role, I will be developing and managing digital marketing campaigns, email marketing, SEO, managing/creating websites, and optimising content for the website through social networking channels such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

I have always been interested in Business studies and I knew after I had completed my A-levels that this was the correct pathway for me. When I am not working, I attend a cheerleading club called Bath All Starz. I have been doing this for many years now and have gone to various locations around the UK to compete and bring home trophies/medals. As well as this, I also had a part-time job at Marks and Spencer Café. I thoroughly enjoyed this job for many years, working alongside my colleagues to help deliver exceptional service to customers.

I consider myself to be very hardworking which is why I am excited to broaden my knowledge and I am confident that soVision IT is the best place for me to be able to reach my goals and to start a new career.

I started my Digital Marketing career when I joined soVision IT in August 2021 as a Digital Marketing Trainee. I have since then progressed to the Digital Marketing Apprentice role to further gain experience in hopes of pursuing this field as a future career once I receive the relevant qualifications. Within the business, I do copywriting, email marketing, website development, social media management, reporting and SEO.

After successfully passing my A-Levels in 2020 when the pandemic hit, my studies in Business and English have been particularly relevant for this job due to my demonstration of excellent communication skills and critical thinking. When I joined the Digital Marketing team, I had little to no experience and had no idea if it’d be suitable for me. But thankfully, under the management of the expert team at soVision IT, I've been able to gain lots of knowledge and experience about the industry, and I can't wait to continue learning and evolving!

When I'm not at work, you'll find me out and about in Bristol with my friends. I also have a passion for photography and enjoy going swimming regularly at my local leisure centre.

I love interacting with people and, where I can, I am always willing to help people achieve their goals.  I am a firm believer in the qualities of integrity and motivation. At soVision IT, we really do strive to provide the best value for money in all that we do for our customers. 

As MD, I’m responsible for the strategic direction, culture, and ultimate growth of the Company. I’m proud of our team. Experienced and with so much talent and a depth of knowledge, they still surprise me every day. 

I’ve had such an interesting career, from being a recognised European expert in Project Management to being the Managing Director of a Major Division of a global Aerospace Company and Director of one of the UK’s largest Consultancy Operations. These roles have taught me so much about business and people. 

When I am not working as an IT support provider, I love my garden and I am an animal lover who loves to be close to nature. My wife calls me Dr. Doolittle as I talk to all animals and birds that frequent my garden or I meet in the wild. I love cooking and preparing most of the family’s meals. I must confess I am more experimental than my wife who is also an excellent cook.

Having a technical and mechanical mindset, a career in the IT industry was always the one for me. Offering a constant opportunity to learn, and adapt ever-changing solutions to problems, the variety and unpredictable nature of the industry absolutely suited my personality to a tee.  
 
Having now worked in the IT industry for over 16 years, this is as true today as when I began working as a support engineer apprentice for a small business in Gloucestershire in 2004. Whilst my role as an IT support provider within soVision IT is a far cry from where my career started, and the challenges have gone from resolving faults for users to finding holistic solutions for businesses, the joy of the challenge and the constantly changing technology remains. 
 
Whilst spare time is a rare commodity with a family, (too) much of it is spent with another love, the four-wheeled kind. Ever problematic, cars and engines are an area where I have an opportunity to exercise a totally different set of skills to those required in the office but use the same problem-solving mentality. When looking for some time to relax, coarse fishing or walking is a great opportunity to hit refresh! 

I have always been interested in tech, a self-confessed geek at heart with a keen eye for design. This drove me to study fine art at A-level, Diploma, and from there on to an Interactive design Degree at UWE graduating in 2005.  Since then I have worked in advertising for major newsgroups and publishers, SaaS companies, digital marketing agencies, Freelance and Senior marketing roles in house. During this time, I have had a huge amount of training and gained a ton of experience in advertising, business development, and marketing. Especially digital Marketing, having a strong focus on Search Engine Optimisation over the years.  

My passion is to see great results gleaned from hard work.

I feel soVision IT can support me on this next stage of my career as a digital marketing manager and help me to grow and develop my skills further. I am also eager to learn and progress in business from Brian’s mentorship throughout my time here.

At the weekend you will generally find me freezing cold on the side-line watching my son playing football.
